Passiflora ligularis (sweet granadilla)

Passiflora is a very interesting ornamental crop for landscaping rooms, offices, as well as homesteads in the south of Russia. A long-lived fast-growing liana, depending on the form of support forms a dense green screen or a semicircle of lush foliage, studded with flowers fantastic in their beauty and exoticism. With good care, passiflora bears fruit regularly, even at home. Passiflora reed is the most delicate of the passiflora. The flowers are pinkish-purple, 8-12 cm in diameter with white-striped long stamens. Fruits are oval, orange-red, very tasty. Seeds are soaked for 24 hours before sowing, then sown into the soil to a depth of 2-5 mm. Seeds are covered with glass and constantly moistened, not allowing the substrate to dry out. The optimal germination temperature is 20-24°C. Sprouts appear unevenly, some seeds may germinate for 10 months. As the seedlings appear, remove the glass. In the phase of the first pair of true leaves seedlings are pickled. Passiflora is very light-loving, prefers well-drained, neutral or slightly alkaline soils. It needs regular watering, weekly feeding (especially during active growth), spraying and ventilation. Before frosts, plants are returned to room conditions; in March, shorten lateral shoots by three to five buds. Passiflores are ideal plants for vertical gardening. They are fast growing, vigorous, magical fragrance, abundant and long-lasting blooms.
