Dorstenia foetida

A perennial miniature fleshy caudex plant, up to 30-40 cm tall. The leaves are fleshy, lanceolate, glossy, dark green. The trunk is light gray or light brown, thick, rough, with traces of fallen leaves. The flowers, which are arranged in a disk-shaped flat rosette with tentacle-like bracts, have a very unique fantasy look: they resemble blotches, suckers or strange space devices. The plant itself and its flowers are odorless, but the cloudy, poisonous milky juice, which flows out when the stem is damaged, has a rather unpleasant smell.
