A highly ornamental, fast-growing liana up to 4.5 m long. Flowers are purplish-white, 8-12 cm in diameter. The fruits are red-brown, very tasty. Propagated by seeds, which are soaked in water for a day, then sown into the soil. The depth of embedding 2-5 mm. The optimal germination temperature is 20-24°C. Inadmissible over drying of the substrate, so the seeds are covered with glass or transparent film, which are removed as the seedlings appear. Seedlings need 12-hour daylight, if necessary apply backlight. Sprouting in the phase of the first pair of true leaves. Sprouts do not deepen, even elongated. Some seeds may germinate for up to 12 months. The plant is very light-demanding. It needs regular spraying and airing. In summer it is recommended to take the plants out into the air and use them to decorate your garden plots. Requires well-drained, preferably neutral or slightly alkaline soils. During active growth (till August) abundant watering and weekly feedings are necessary, but stagnant moisture should not be allowed. Before frosts, plants are returned to room conditions; in March, shorten the lateral shoots by three to five buds. Passiflores are ideal plants for vertical gardening. They are fast growing, hardy, magical fragrance, abundant and long-lasting blooms. They are also excellent climbers for the home or conservatory. They are easy to grow and do quite well even in small pots.
